Getting to know Yoshiro Tachibana (1941 - 2016)

Yoshiro Tachibana was born in 1941 in Kobe, Japan. From an early age, he found his greatest sources of inspiration in light and nature. Tachibana was drawn to the French Post-Impressionist painters, especially Paul Cézanne and Vincent van Gogh. These influences marked the beginning of his artistic journey. His passion for art led him to Tokyo, where he studied at the University of Fine Arts. During his time at university, he was influenced by the work of Paul Klee, further enriching his unique style. In addition to his love for painting, Tachibana discovered a deep passion for flamenco, which adds a cultural and emotional dimension to his work.

His adventurous spirit led him to travel across Asia and much of Europe until he eventually settled in Galicia, Spain. There, Tachibana found the perfect refuge for his creativity, where he could seamlessly blend abstraction and figuration. This environment allowed him to develop a distinctive style that reflects both his cultural heritage and his diverse artistic influences. Throughout his career, Tachibana created more than 800 works of art, which are now scattered across the world.
